States split between two time zones
- Florida — Eastern; the western Panhandle (Pensacola, Panama City) is Central.
- Idaho — Mountain; the northern panhandle above the Salmon River is Pacific.
- Indiana — Eastern; 12 counties near Chicago and Evansville are Central.
- Kansas — Central; four western counties are Mountain.
- Kentucky — roughly half Eastern (Louisville, Lexington), half Central (Bowling Green).
- Michigan — Eastern; four Upper Peninsula counties bordering Wisconsin are Central.
- Nebraska — Central; the western Panhandle is Mountain.
- Nevada — Pacific; West Wendover is Mountain.
- North Dakota — Central; the southwest is Mountain.
- Oregon — Pacific; most of Malheur County is Mountain.
- South Dakota — split down the middle: east Central, west Mountain (Rapid City).
- Tennessee — east (Knoxville, Chattanooga) Eastern; middle and west (Nashville, Memphis) Central.
- Texas — Central; El Paso and Hudspeth counties are Mountain.
- Alaska — Alaska time, except the far western Aleutians, which are Hawaii-Aleutian.
Daylight saving time
All states observe DST from the second Sunday in March to the first Sunday in November, except Hawaii and most of Arizona (the Navajo Nation in Arizona does observe it). In summer, Arizona matches Pacific time; in winter, Mountain.
