About usmap.page

A fast, ad-free reference for maps of the United States. Everything is drawn from public data and served as static pages.

Data sources

Accuracy

Boundaries are generalized for screen display and are not suitable for legal or surveying purposes. Label positions are approximate centers chosen for legibility. If you find an error, email hello@usmap.page with the page URL; corrections are usually live within a few days.

How the site is built

Every page is static HTML. Maps are rendered in the browser with Leaflet from a single GeoJSON file, so no map tiles are downloaded unless you switch on the Streets layer. The site uses system fonts, one stylesheet and one script, which is why pages load in well under a second on mobile.

Privacy

usmap.page sets no cookies, runs no analytics scripts and shows no ads. The only third-party request is to OpenStreetMap tile servers, and only after you press Streets. Server logs are retained for 30 days for security.

Reuse

Print, screenshot and embed freely for education and personal use. For commercial reuse of the site's text, ask first. The underlying boundary data is public domain and can be downloaded from the Census Bureau directly.
