Printable Delaware map

Delaware — three counties, one capital, and the only state whose northern border is an arc — printed on one page with Dover, Wilmington and Newark marked.

Borders: Pennsylvania (north), Maryland (west and south), New Jersey across the Delaware River and Bay.

What prints

Delaware is the second-smallest state, so the sheet prints it large. The outline is a narrow strip on the Delmarva Peninsula, about 100 miles long and 35 miles across at its widest, bounded by the Delaware River and Bay on the east and the Atlantic on a short southern coast. Only three counties exist — New Castle, Kent and Sussex — and their two boundary lines print as clean horizontal divisions. Dover is the capital star in Kent County. The Major cities layer adds Wilmington and Newark, both in New Castle County near the Pennsylvania line; the state has few other cities of size, so the key table below is shorter than usual.

Page orientation

Delaware should be printed in portrait. The state is roughly three times as tall as it is wide, and in portrait it fills the height of a Letter or A4 sheet while leaving margins for notes on either side. In landscape the map is reduced to about a third of the page and the arc border becomes hard to see. There is no need to zoom; the default page view already fits the whole state.

What is labeled

The circular northern border is the sheet's most recognisable feature and is worth pointing out: it is the only state boundary in the US drawn as an arc. The western border with Maryland is the Transpeninsular Line's midpoint meridian, and the southern one is the Transpeninsular Line itself, both surveyed before Mason and Dixon finished their work. County seats and details are on the county map; the blank Delaware map strips everything out.
